v Sawtell

The U14's Tigers were looking for a strong performance in their last regular season game before the Semi's against the Sawtell Panthers at Bowraville, and that's what they got, with a big 58-12 victory.

The Tigers showed up, dug deep and worked hard for their teammates. Some brutal defence on display and when it was time for attack, they just put the foot down and Sawtell had no answers for them.

Himayat Robinson, Toby Kinnear and Joe Howarth were brilliant in every aspect of the game. Alex Howard and David Styles just get better every game and Lachie Chapman showed some real spark off the bench. Tyrell West was safe as a bank at fullback and organises the team's defence so well from the back and produced a great try saving ankle tap.

Wingers Brady Atkins and Clay Perkins had some nice touches and some great tackling plays. Sam Bekis was dangerous every time he touched the ball and has turned into a brilliant defencive centre.

The forwards got the field position and the backs got the ball out to strong running Centre Brody Harris, who clapped on the pace and burned the fullback to score a great try. Simon Walker had some nice darts from dummy half, one with a step back on the inside to score a fine 4 pointer. Kaiden Sakaio continues to impress, taking the ball to the line a creating holes for the forwards to charge into, then Sakaio dummied, and sliced through to score.

5/8 Logan Jones had a field day scoring 4 tries in each half, one, beating the defence, coming to the winger, chips n chases, then beats the fullback for speed, snatches the ball from his grasps and scoots away to score. Not only did Robinson and Kinnear put some really big shots on, they combined well and tipped onto each other all day, creating some great attacking opportunities for their team, and Big Toby was able to run onto one and burst through the defence and charge in for a try, no one was stopping the big fella.

Special thanks to Elijah Cooper for backing up, and played brilliantly with some strong tackles and big charges.

It was a great team display from the Tigers, they have gained some great momentum and are really playing for each other. Let's keep it rolling!!
