Bowra 14s vs Coffs , this game was last yrs grand final re match so the boys knew it would be a tough encounter , althou this age division is now only a 4 team comp which is disappointing what it does provide is close games each week as all 4 teams are fairly even .
As has been our problem in all games this season we started very slowly and once again were 2 tries down before we had even got started , this is just a result of poor communication in defence and getting caught short on numbers .
Unlike the previous 2 wks we never really got into the swing of things in this game as a result of extremely poor ball handling , we think we only completed 2 sets the entire game and it was only pieces of individual brillance that kept us in the game .
Zane Jones backing up from under 13s was outstanding, scoring a run away try from the back of the scrum just before half time to keep us in the game , Brodie Moore also backing up from 13s was tireless in both attack and defence and busted thru the line to set up Gary Flanders for 1 of his 2 tries , Gary 2nd try was an individual effort grubbering thru the line re gathering and scoring under the black dot to put us in front with a minute to play , its was great to see the smile back on Garys face , a big mention should be made of Lincoln Noble defence , Lincoln shut down at least half a dozen threatening coffs raids down his wing by jamming in and making tackles that just had to be made , Joe Young was also strong holding the middle of the park together , the boys won by 4 points in a game that could of quite easily went the other way but a wins a win and they say its a sign of a good team when u can play below your best and still get a victory , Congrats boys on another win and off to Kempsey next week .
