Under 14's v Woolgoolga

Bowra 14's travelled to Woolgoolga to play the leading side in the Competition - 1 loss in 4 years.

The Boys ran on the field pumped ready for the big game and from kick off they were brilliant in attack and also defence.

Early in the first half 2 tries were scored; Lockie a try close to the posts was converted; Blake Brunsdon put the kick through into the corner for Will Douglas to score. Woolgoolga fought back to even the score at half time to 10 all.

Early in the second half, the hard driving Layne Rouse barged over off a penalty only 10 metres out, an unstoppable run. Strong defence from Bowra forced a mistake which ended in a penalty against Woopi on their own line. Once again the unstoppable Layne Rouse went in for his second try of the day 18 – 10.

With 10 minutes to go a couple of penalties against Bowra saw Woopi in for 2 tries.

Fulltime  24 – 18

The Bowra Boys played their best against all the odds with Woolgoolga having the home ground advantage.

Congratulations to all the boys you all had a great game, too many names to mention.

Under 14's 23 May

Bowra's U/14's played Sawtell for the fourth time this year.

The game was played on a sunny autumn afternoon with both teams having full squads.

Bowraville came out of the blocks fast with Kaine "Watto" Watson crashing over the line within the first ten minutes. Bruno Brundson crossed to add to his scoring tally this year.

Brian Connelly scored in his final game for Bowra and we wish him all the best as he has returned to QLD (look out for him in State of Origin!!) Jordo wrapped up the scoring in the first half just before the half time break.

Bowra started the second half slowly with Sawtell bagging a few quick tries. The boys quickly snapped out of it with Flynn Watts scoring off a set play off the back of a scrum.

Jack Keogh got a well-deserved try after making good metres from every hit up. Ryan scored from a wonky kick cementing Bowra's dominance over the last four games.

Final score: 38 - 18
