Under 8's Bowra Black

With the 2016 season in full swing, both Bowra Black and Bowra Gold have been on the road up until Saturday. Bowra Black have played at Kempsey, Woolgoolga, Smithtown and Sawtell.

Both bowra teams, Black and Gold, finally played against each other on their home turf, Hennessey Tape International Stadium.

Bowra Black received the ball deep in their in goal area and Beau Harper swooped on the ball only to be hammered by Bowra Gold defence. Kobi "give it' Toomey had his first charge for the day. Kobi suffering from tonsillitis didn't hold back. Harry 'JF" Kennedy a first timer, was poached from that silly game where you punch the ball to pass it. Harry with a  skip and jump fooled the defence to cross for his first try of his promising league career.

Dominic Rouse released by Bowra Gold has fitted in well showing his wares especially with ball in hand. Jonah Cohen another to swap jerseys this year has fitted in well wearing the No 9. Jonah, although seems to suffer from kryptonite at training, gets it together on game day with some probing runs and bootlace tackling. Noa McDonald "Noa without the H" has had trouble finding a winter sport until this year. Noa takes control at first receiver directing his mates into position. Sometimes Noas' passing hame can be too natural. Keep it up Noa!

Ben Ennis is developing into a fine player. Bens speed and agility on and off the field is to be admired. Jye Toby Howle (JT) has returned after the off season ready to make the No 6 jumper his. This will depend on his behavior at school mum says. Beau Harper continues to improve every week. Keep it up Beau. Jacob Rowlings has also come across from Bowra Gold as contract talks broke down. Jacob is a raw talent with the ball scoring 3 tries on the weekend. Darcy Milne an excellent dummy half for his first year. The no. 2 jumper was to be retired for the remainder of the season after a mystery virus struck him down.

Then came along Casey Lawson. Casey scored 2 tries on debut at Woolgoolga against Coffs Harbour. Another new starter Levi (strasse) Fuller strolled across at training and said he is here to play footy. With Levis determination and grit he is sure to be a valuable asset for the Bowra Tigers for many years to come.
